Lisk, Roanoke meeting cies. 1988, the terms of Mrs. LaVerne B. Dillon, Mr. and Mr. James M. Turner, Jr., as Trustees of the City School Board will expire. The purpose of this is to interview six candidates for the upcoming vacan- In an effort to bring you up-to-date on preceding events, would like to call the following information to your attention: (i) At regular meetings of the City Council held on January 11 and January 19, 1988, Council announced its intention to elect Trustees of the Roanoke City School Board for terms commencing July 1, 1988. (2) Advertisements were placed in The Roanoke Times and World-News inviting applications for the upcoming vacan- (3) cies. Six applications were received in the City Clerk's Office prior to the deadline on Thursday, March 10, 1988, at 5:00 p.m. Upon filing, the City Clerk furnished each applicant with written information prescribed by Council describing the duties and respon- sibilities of Trustees of the Roanoke City School Board. STATEMENT OF PROCEDURE Our selection process provides that Council will publicly interview each candidate separately and out of the presence and hearing of the other candidates.
