The Honorable Vice-Mayor and
Members of Roanoke City Council
Roanoke, Virginia
Dear Mrs. Bowles and Gentlemen
On Tuesday, April 28, 1987, at 7:30 p.m., the Roanoke City
Council will hold a Public Bearing in the Coliseum of the Roanoke
Civic Center for the purpose of receiving the concerns of citi-
zens regarding the 1987-88 Budget. Please permit me to suggest
that the Public Hearing will be held during the hours of 7:30
p.m. and 10:30 p.m. with a 10 minute break at 9:00 p.m. If a
large number of citizens remain to be heard at 10:30 p.m., I
suggest that we extend the time of the meeting to 11:00 p.m.
If it pleases the members of Council, I will ask that the citi-
zens be allowed to speak from 3 5 minutes, and I will ask the
City Clerk to keep the time. In order to save time, we will
endeavor to have more than one speaker's stand, and to some
extent, to schedule persons in succession who wish to speak on
the same topic.
Please be assured that the foregoing thoughts are simply
suggestions that I hope will be helpful in conducting a very
smooth and orderly meeting. Your comments and suggestions
regarding the Public. Bearing, as always will be greatly
appreciated. '
Sincerely yours,
Noel C. Taylor,
City of Roanoke
