AGENDA
1. Welcome-Mayor Sherman Lea and Vice Mayor Joe Cobb
2. Purpose for Meeting-the creation of a task force to review current community practices
regarding reduction of gun violence and to make recommendations to City Council to further
reduce incidents of gun violence in our community. We believe this effort can lead to a
community-based, comprehensive approach through prevention, intervention, education, public
health and safety, and support to continue creating a healthier and safer city for all citizens to
live and thrive.
3. Facilitated Conversation on Current Community Practices and Strategies to reduce gun violence
in Roanoke
4. Next Steps-Recommendation to formally create a Task Force to Reduce Gun Violence for the
City of Roanoke
