3. Approval of Minutes from September 11 and October 9 meetings
4. Deputy Chief Smith and Captain Puckett provided an update from RPD on organizational
changes, including a newly formed gang unit and the IStar analysis team reporting
directly to Chief Roman. We also received current data on incidents of gun violence in
the city, with 61 year to date. The IStar analyst also shared year-to-date data related to
confirmed and suspected gang-related incidents. We also heard from Lloyd Merchant,
Community Mitigation and Volunteer Coordinator, regarding the RESET grant efforts in
response to trauma-related events including incidents of gun violence.
5. Update from Working Group Initiatives and Action Items – Each working group provided
a brief update on areas of focus.
6. Working Group Break Out Sessions were held and reported back their top priority,
action steps and budget recommendations. A summary of this information will be
presented to City Council on November 16.
7. Next Steps and Meeting Dates:

Study Committee December Meeting – Friday, December 11, 2020 – 10:00 am
