Meeting called to order at 5:30 pm
Kathy Cohen stated we have $40,000 left in ARPA funds for ongoing programs.
Ongoing programs include the following:
• Gunlocks
• Books in schools along with readers
• Parenting videos
• Community engagement efforts
• Relocation support
• Urban farming
• Mentoring
Additionally: mental health support, counseling at Envision Center, Apple Ridge Farm middle
school program, FED Up
Money is limited to ongoing programs we have funded and must be spent within the next 6 weeks by
the middle of November. Kathy Cohen suggested we award 8 organizations with $5000 each to
spend in 6 weeks. The following organizations were approved to receive $5000:
• Community Engagement
• FedUP
• Books in schools
• Envision Center
• Melrose Library
• RCPS (Elementary School 1 to address trauma)
• RCPS (Elementary School 2 to address trauma)
• Family Services
Commissioners were asked to contact organizations to provide information on funding:
• Amy Hodge – Community Engagement
• Elliot Major – Melrose Library
• Eric Anderson – RCPS and Books in Schools
• Jared Rose – Envision Center
• Shikira Williams - Family Services
• Jared Rose/Catherine Koebel - FedUp
We would like the organizations to let us know by Friday if they would like to receive the funding and
then Angie O’Brien would send out contracts.
