End of Year Report for CY2025 (Published on 1/14/2026)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
From 1/1/2025 – 12/31/2025, the Roanoke Police Department responded to 25 incidents of gun-violence where one or more persons were struck
by gunfire during a criminal offense (note that incidents can involve multiple offenses simultaneously; IE, a homicide and an aggravated assault).
16 incidents have been closed by arrest, and 6 remain under active investigation. 1 case has been inactivated pending further leads/information,
and 2 have been marked closed exception.
